Sprint 1 (Project Start)

For the first week of work we starting by getting some reference images for the project and get an idea of what the map should look like.

Following that, we started splitting up group roles, and we created a Trello Board to organize our tasks and due dates. In order to maximize efficiency, we assigned a group member as team lead who will make sure the Trello Board is kept up to date and members are completing their assigned tasks.

With the organization (mostly) out of the way, we preceded to work on our assigned tasks. For me, I set up a Unity scene with proper folder organization and enabled the Unity Colab system so that multiple members could access and edit the project simultaneously. I also added some tools from the Unity Asset store to improve the build speed and quality of the project as we moved forward. During this time an annotated map of our level was created by another group member as a reference point to create a blockout scene.

After this point, our 3D modelers got to work creating some low-poly versions of important models in the scene and a terrain was created in Unity to match the annotated map. The end result of this work was a blockout scene in Unity with the terrain and models to see how the level looked and felt early on. Pretty solid start I'd say!

In the meantime, I have been assigned to work on a zipline mechanic for the player so that we can have some interactivity in the level. At this time, it is scheduled to be completed by the end of Sprint 2 but I have a pretty good start on it already!
